Desciption: This is a unique blend of two ancient varietals Saperavi and Tempranillo. Tempranillo is a well-known Spanish black grape variety while Saperavi is from Georgia (the country not the state) and is one of the oldest grapes in the world. This grape is also one of the few black grape varieties that have both red flesh and red skins (most red wine grapes are white fleshed). Together the two grapes create a medium-bodied red, featuring aromas of blackberry, pepper spice and floral notes with fine tannins and great depth complemented by rich, spiced plum flavours. Rahona Valley is a small boutique producer creating sustainable, single vineyard wines with a knack for patience and a passion for quality.
