Description: Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling, using 33-year-old Cabernet
vines, farmed sustainably, and direct-pressing the fruit to get a nice, salmon-pink rose. There’s obvious cabernet characters here, with juicy red jubes and green spice, but to sharpen up the edges, there is a touch of the Riesling has been added giving the wine a laser-like focus. Think flavours of grapefruit, strawberry, guava and cranberry with a good whack of acid and textured mouthfeel. With a committment to sustainability, Gonzo Vino have revitalised the Goon bag of the 1960s, bringing an updated worldview focussed on the use of quality wine, a reduction in their carbon footprint and recycling with each 3L cask saving 4 x glass bottles going to landfill. This cask has a shelf life of 6-8 weeks once opened.
