Characteristics: Barrel Aged, Whisky, Rich Malts
Description: This beer is a classic and is the 10th version of the collaboration with Starward Whisky in Port Melbourne. Aged in French oak (ex Red wine Nova casks) for 6 months, the oak profile plays a back seat to the red wine, malt and whisky character in equal amounts. The whisky shines through early on the nose, with some soft oak and earthy hops. On the palate, whisky, rich malts and red wine, the latter coming from the whisky barrels, as this is what was stored in the barrels before the whisky. The finish is deceptively smooth and belies the alcohol very well.
