Description: This pack is the perfect tasting comparison of Allies Merricks Pinot Noir vintages 2020 and 2021. 2020 was windy and experienced above average rainfall producing low yeilds but high quality fruit. While 2021 produced almost ‘perfect’ growing conditions producing Pinot Noir with extraordinary colour and flavour.

The Merricks vineyard is set high on an east west ridge, gently south facing at 110 metres above the nearby waters of Westernport bay. At 33 years of age, this is one of the earlier plantngs on the Peninsula and sits on predominantly red volcanic soils that give way to grey alluvial soils. Natural spiring’s abound here so
watering is never required and, in general, this vineyard is ideally suited to warm dry vintages. Of the three Allies sites, Merricks is always the palest of the three wines but has a vibrant crimson hue and lifted cherry, raspberry, cranberry and rhubarb aromas.
